Although all of the voting is complete the election is not over. Amy Mallet has an 18 vote lead over John Curley for the office of Monmouth County Freeholder. The county will start counting provisional ballots on Monday. If Amy’s lead holds, and we are confident that it will, Democrats will control the Board of Freeholders for the first time in over 20 years. We will keep you updated as news becomes available.
Matthew Cohen lost his hard run bid for Borough Council by 44 votes. We are proud of the race that he ran and thankful for the support of so many in the community including Democrats, Republicans and Independents.
Fair Haven saw unprecedented turnout on Tuesday with some interesting results. Barack Obama carried Fair Haven even though he last Monmouth County.
